Report - See what Former Manchester United Boss said about Jose Mourinho when he was about to be sacked at Chelsea

Wednesday, October 3, 2018

Sir Alex Ferguson had a message for Roman Abramovich when he was preparing to sack Jose Mourinho at Chelsea back in 2015.

The Portuguese were coming towards the end of his second stint in charge of the south-west London club, and the honeymoon period had well and truly passed.

Results weren't going the way of the Blues and eventually, the ruthless Abramovich wielded his axe and parted company with the Portuguese.

But before he did, the Russian received a message from none other than legendary Manchester United manager Ferguson, who warned the Chelsea owner he was making a big mistake.

"[Abramovich] has to trust and have confidence Jose can flip it around, there's no point in sacking one of the best coaches of all time," Ferguson said back in 2015.

"[Mourinho] has won the European Cup twice, he has won the league in each country he has managed in, he has won the big trophies.

"It would be foolish for him to take that step to sack him. that would be bad management; it's not leadership, that."
